Christopher Bailey Foote

Christopher Bailey Foote was a commercial artist, cartoonist, website designer, and marketing director for several non-profit entities over the years, including, most recently, the Laboure Society.

He produced “Doodles,” a syndicated comic in the Mpls. Star, initially started with Star Tribune editorial cartoonist, Steve Sack, who called him "a wonderful cartoonist, partner, and friend."  “Doodles” eventually became a solo trade for Foote when Sack retired.

Foote created ads and posters for the Twin Cities Catholic Chorale. He initially insisted on volunteering his work for the organization but later agreed to a small stipend.

Foote also ran a Facebook group known as the Lake Minnetonka Fan Club. He described the Facebook page in a 2020 post as a place for "good-natured conversation, shared wisdom, and intelligent discourse." His absence from that group has been sorely missed by the 28,000 followers he attracted.

Foote’s passions ranged from sewing and bodybuilding to staging elaborate pranks. He adopted his wife’s two children and two stepchildren as his own, and loved playing with their eight grandchildren. He enjoyed most kinds of music from hard rock to Beethoven and was an amazing guitarist.

He was born in Washington, D.C., and loved telling tales (some likely ‘tall’) of riding his bike with his younger brother up and down the steps of the Pentagon where his father was stationed as a Naval officer. Their family moved to Minnetonka in 1970. He graduated from the University of Minnesota and also studied at Atelier Studio Program of Fine Art.

Chris’ passion for creating art led him to an incredible creation of over 2,000 pieces ranging from original sketches and cartoons to fine oils and watercolors. This website is dedicated to his varied artistic creations.
